How To Install Wordpress On AddOn Domain In Hostgator
Intending to install Wordpress on your AddOn Domain In Hostgator? First of all, you need to have a registered domain with any "Paid Domain Registrars" (i.e. Namecheap or Godaddy or Hostgator, etc) or "Free Domain Registrars" (i.e. Dot.tk or etc).

Assuming you have both domain registered and you have got your Hostgator web hosting account ready, we shall now proceed straight into How To Install Wordpress On AddOn Domain In Hostgator. Usually "AddOn Domains" are domains that aren't the first domain being used on the same Web Hosting account. They are the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and nth domain that are being "add on" to their existing Web Hosting account.

In this step-by-step tutorial, I will assume AddOn Domain (i.e. addon123.com) registered from Namecheap due to my own personal experiences and Web Hosting plan comes from Hostgator Baby Shared Plan.

1)    You may recall that when you signed up with Hostgator's Baby Shared Plan Web Hosting Account, you were sent this email with heading "Hostgator.com :: Your Account Info" that contains all your web hosting account essential information :

Hostgator.com Account Info
A sample of what your "Hostgator.com:: Your Account Info" email would look like and
some related notes and examples of them.
(You may click on the above image to see a bigger and clearer picture.)

(NOTE : We are going to use these demonstration "light-blue" example information like
"https://gator4222.hostgator.com:2083", "happy", "ns8111.hostgator.com", "
ns8112.hostgator.com", etc.
in this step-by-step tutorial. Your own information will be different from these demo examples.)

2)    Next you are going to login to your Namecheap.com account and locate your "addon123.com" in your "Domain List". Once you have located it, on the extreme right side, click "MANAGE" button (See picture below).

Scroll down and look for "NAMESERVERS". Set the nameservers to "ns8111.hostgator.com" and "ns8112.hostgator.com" respectively to point to my Hostgator hosting account. (Refer to your own email entitled "Hostgator.com :: Your Account Info" for the 1st Nameserver and 2nd Nameserver as your info will be different from mine in this example.).

How to Change DNS to Hostgator

Type the "ns8111.hostgator.com" and "ns8112.hostgator.com" and then click the little "Green Tick" to effect the change. (See picture above). Setting the nameservers (DNS) for your domain to point to your hosting can take up to 24 - 72 hours to DNS propagate. So it may be worthwhile to set it now than later.

3)    After you have done your DNS-setting, you can login to your Hostgator's Control Panel (Cpanel), type "https://gator4222.hostgator.com:2083" in your web browser.

Fill in your "Username" : happy
Fill in your "Password" : eW4tCjv5Wjm!
(Please refer to your own "Hostgator.com :: Your Account Info" email to get your Username and Password as your info will be different from mine.)

4)    Once you have clicked "Log in" button, the Hostgator's Cpanel interface will display on your screen. You will be shown a "Welcome New User" message in which you can safely click "No, I'm fine. Thanks!" and move on.

How To Install Wordpress On Main Domain In Hostgator
Planning to install Wordpress on your Main Domain In Hostgator? First of all, you need to have a domain (that you would like to assign as a "Main Domain") for your hosting account. Usually such "Main Domain" is the first domain when you first sign up with Hostgator for your new web hosting. If you do not have any domain ready, due to my own personal experience, I would recommend Namecheap.

Assuming you have got your domain registered and you have got your Hostgator web hosting account ready:
Registered Domain
(Note : Your domain can be registered from "Paid Domain Registrars" e.g. Namecheap or Godaddy or etc. These 2 are the most popular paid ones but I recommend to use domains from Namecheap due to my own personal experiences with them. Your domain can be registered from "Free Domain Registrars" e.g. Dot.tk or etc. Your domain can also be registered from Hostgator too.)

Hostgator Web Hosting Account
(Note : Be it Hatchling Plan Account, Baby Plan Account or Business Plan Account)

For this step-by-step tutorial, I will be using Namecheap's Domain "main123.com" and also Hostgator's Baby Shared Plan Web Hosting Account. Let's us go straight on How To Install Wordpress On Main Domain In Hostgator.

1)    When you first signed up with Hostgator's Baby Plan Web Hosting Account, you will be sent this email with heading "Hostgator.com :: Your Account Info" that contains all your web hosting account essential information (so keep this handy and of course confidential) :

Hostgator.com Account Info
A sample of what your "Hostgator.com:: Your Account Info" email would look like and
some related notes and examples of them.
(You may click on the above image to see a bigger and clearer picture.)

(NOTE : We are going to use these demonstration "light-blue" example information like
"https://gator4222.hostgator.com:2083", "happy", "ns8111.hostgator.com", "
ns8112.hostgator.com", etc.
in this step-by-step tutorial. Your own information will be different from these demo examples.)

2)    Login to your account at namecheap.com and locate your "main123.com" in your "Domain List". On the extreme right side, click "MANAGE" button (See picture below).

How to Change DNS to Hostgator

Scroll down and look for "NAMESERVERS". I am going to set my nameservers "ns8111.hostgator.com" and "ns8112.hostgator.com" to point to my Hostgator hosting now. (Refer to your own "Hostgator.com :: Your Account Info" email's 1st Nameserver and 2nd Nameserver Info cause they will be different from mine.).

How to Change DNS to Hostgator

Type the "ns8111.hostgator.com" and "ns8112.hostgator.com" and then press the little "Green Tick" to effect the change. (See picture above).

Note : You can set the nameservers (DNS) for your domain before or after the Wordpress installation. The reason why I am going ahead to set DNS now is because it takes up to 24 - 72 hours for the DNS propagation to take effect. Based on my experience, sometimes it can be very fast, sometimes it takes a little longer. So I would just DNS-set it first and then install Wordpress, just to save a little time :).

3)    Login to your Cpanel, type "https://gator4222.hostgator.com:2083" in your web browser.

Hostgator Control Panel (Cpanel)

Fill in your "Username" : happy

As this "main123.com" is not your add-on domain (second or third domain or nth domain, etc), your "Main Domain" (i.e. in this example "main123.com") that you have associated with your Hostgator web hosting account during sign-up and thus it will be listed in your Hostgator Cpanel.

5)    Scroll down and look for "Software and Services" section and click "QuickInstall". (See picture below).
